You have until the day of the final examination to choose to withdraw from the course. If you choose to withdraw from the course, you will receive a W as your final grade. This will not affect your GPA. If you look at or touch the final examination, then you officially and IMMEDIATELY forfeit your right to withdraw. In that case, you will receive a letter grade (A,B,C,D, or F), which WILL affect your GPA. It is your responsibility to check the class standings and know whether you have a chance of passing. If you choose to withdraw before the final examination, let me know.

The accidentally truncated version of Wednesday's lecture has been replaced with the full performance.

Now that you have given your hormone presentation, it is time for you to grade your groupmates. DO NOT GRADE ANYONE FROM A DIFFERENT GROUP, AND DO NOT GRADE YOURSELF. Use the following link to submit your evaluation.

This form is the only allowable way to submit the evaluation, and every active group member must submit a separate evaluation. No scores will appear for any member of the group until all members have submitted an evaluation. If you see other groups' scores posted and not your own, contact your groupmates.

Since your presentations are coming up. I want to let you know that most students have a tendency to stand up in front of the class and simply read the slides aloud. Try to avoid doing that. It's best if you can just use your slides as supporting material while you explain your points in your own words.

Just as for the ECG, there will be a pre-experiment quiz for the Spirometry BioPac, so be sure to read your handout before coming to the laboratory (and be sure to be on time).

Hopefully, everyone knows by now that there is NOT a paper due for the hormone project. All that is left for the hormone project is to make a PowerPoint presentation. DO NOT WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER.

The official breakdown for Practicum 2 is now posted.

There will be open laboratory periods from 0900 to 1100 on 2 April and 9 April.

Be sure to look over your heart dissection handout BEFORE coming to the laboratory. Knowing the routing of blood through the heart will make the dissection much easier.

Also, be sure to read through the EKG handout before coming to the laboratory the following week. I will be there to help with technical problems, but I will not be there to read the instructions to you. The 20 possible points for the EKG will be split up between a pre-quiz and the data report. If you don't read the handout before coming to the laboratory, you will fail the pre-quiz, but if you do read it, you should do fine. The data you collect during the experiment will be necessary for completing the data report.

Those who still need a hormone group should use the discussion board on Blackboard to find each other.

Be sure to choose your Laboratory Blackboard (not the Lecture). Groups are not allowed to mix Monday people and Wednesday people.

The recording for the 03 March lecture will not be posted until 04 March.

If you have not yet corresponded with me (either by email or by submitting a Bonus Points form), then you will be withdrawn from the course as a no-show. DON'T FREAK OUT! Most of you have already submitted your form or otherwise contacted me, so DON'T submit another form if you have already done so. If you've gotten any sort of email from me, then you are all set.

If the Bonus Points form (or Rules Consent form) gives you an error, please try again tomorrow.

Though the Spring Semester site is now operational, it is during the early part of a semester that I am most likely to make amendments, so keep your eyes on the blog. Enjoy the remainder of the hibernal hiatus. I'll see you in class.
